Garmin is rolling out Public Beta 22.18 for the Forerunner 965 Series

Supported Models:

Update Overview:

  • This Beta update is available “Over The Air” (OTA) and is currently at 25% rollout.
  • Public Beta Users: Updates will arrive within 24–48 hours for those in the target rollout percentage. You can also manually request the update:
    • On your watch: Menu > System > Software Update > Check for Updates.
    • This option works even if you’re outside the target rollout percentage.

Garmin Forerunner 965

Update Methods:

  • OTA Delivery: Updates are sent via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi (referred to as ‘available OTA’).
  • Garmin Express: Users within the rollout percentage can also update via Garmin Express on a computer.

Bug Reporting:

  • Report issues in the Beta Bug Reports forum.
  • The Beta Wiki provides guides on accessing watch files, handling crashes, and bug reporting requirements.

Changelog for Version 13.18 (Since v13.14)

You can manually download the update from: Main menu > Settings > System > Software Update > Check For Updates.

  • Fix Tone setting for notifications.
  • Allow custom workouts for Stair Stepper profile.
  • Fix touch interaction during Checking For Updates.
  • Fix LiveTrack popup messages during Resume Later.
  • Added Passcode Support: when enabled for extra security, you will be prompted to enter your PIN to regain access to your watch after it was taken off your wrist.
  • Various bug fixes and improvements.
