Garmin Golf Smartwatch Line adds Approach S44 and S50
Garmin has introduced two new golf smartwatches, the Approach S44 and S50, designed to provide golfers with enhanced on-course functionality and off-course health and fitness tools. Both devices feature lightweight designs, and vibrant 1.2-inch colour AMOLED displays, and are preloaded with maps of over 43,000 golf courses worldwide.
Golf Features and Connectivity
The Approach S44 offers essential tools for golfers, including hazard view and yardage to the front, middle, and back of the green. It also supports smart notifications when paired with a compatible smartphone, enabling users to stay connected during play.

The Approach S50 builds on these features by adding PlaysLike distance, which adjusts yardages based on elevation changes, and a heart rate sensor that integrates wellness tracking, such as stress monitoring, sleep analysis, and Body Battery™ energy levels. Both models are designed to provide up to 15 hours of battery life in GPS mode.
Health and Fitness Tools
The S50 is equipped with fitness-oriented features, including preloaded activity profiles for yoga, cardio, and strength training, as well as Garmin’s Morning Report for personalised daily insights. It also supports women’s health tracking and offers metrics like fitness age and heart rate variability status.

Enhanced Game Tracking
Both watches are compatible with Garmin’s new Approach CT1 tracking tags, which attach to golf club grips to record shot locations, distances, and club usage. Data collected during play is synced with the Garmin Golf app for post-round analysis, including strokes gained metrics and trend tracking to identify areas for improvement.

Seamless Device Integration
The smartwatches integrate with other Garmin golf devices, such as the Approach Z30 laser range finder, and provide access to premium features like Enhanced CourseView Maps and Green Contours with a Garmin Golf Membership.

The Approach S44 is available for $299.99, while the Approach S50 is priced at $399.99. The Approach CT1 tracking tags are sold as a set of 16 sensors for $99.99.
