Fenix 8 System Software 13.31 Update

The rollout for Software Version 13.31 is ongoing. This update introduces several new features, improvements, and bug fixes to enhance the Fenix 8 experience.

New Features & Enhancements

  • Security & User Experience: Added Passcode Support for extra security, requiring a PIN when the watch is removed. Introduced a QWERTY Keyboard Layout with text prediction for English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish.
  • Training & Fitness: Strength workouts are now integrated into Garmin Run Coach and Garmin Cycling Coach plans. Training Readiness has been improved, and Body Battery TrueUp ensures better syncing across multiple devices.
  • Navigation & Outdoor Activities: Added support for Jumpmaster Activity, Sail Race Activity, and the Trolling Motor App. Introduced Proximity Alerts for all GPS activities and improved round-trip course navigation.
  • Health & Wellness: A Respiration Graph is now available in the Meditation Activity Summary. Advanced Snorkel Support and a Stress Card have been added to the Gaming Activity Summary.
  • Data & Display Improvements: Introduced Font Scaling Support for workout structure cards, a Hint Button for the Training Load Ratio page, a Progress Bar for music selection, and Solar Intensity & Accumulation Data Fields (solar models only).

Fixes & Improvements

  • Navigation & UI: Fixed blank map issues in Power Guide Preview and Training Readiness graphs displaying incorrect weekdays. Improved GPS progress bar presentation when searching.
  • Workout & Activity Tracking: Fixed Auto Climb data screen selection, pool swim interval details layout, and weight display on strength workouts. Corrected race calendar countdown timers and HIIT activity timers.
  • Connectivity & Notifications: Resolved duplicate iOS notifications, improved Do Not Disturb settings, and fixed emojis being cropped in messages. Addressed Wi-Fi network saving errors and smart trainer connectivity issues.
  • System Stability: Fixed potential crashes in multiple areas, including meditation setup, Body Battery glance folders, breathwork previews, and power control menus. Improved power management in dive activities and addressed charging banner issues.

Additionally, minor enhancements were made to sleep tracking, glance folders, and system performance. The maximum Virtual Partner speed has also been increased to 48.95 kph.

This update refines and expands the Fenix 8’s capabilities, providing a more seamless and reliable user experience.
