Garmin ECG/EKG added to old models – Fenix 7 Pro and Epix Pro
Garmin has expanded ECG functionality to Fenix 7 Pro and Epix Pro users in the EU and Australia after initially limiting it to Fenix 8, Venu 3, and Venu 2 Plus. The decision to exclude these models was met with criticism, as the hardware is identical to the approved Fenix 8. Garmin did not provide a clear reason at the time but has now enabled ECG on additional models, including the D2 Mach 1 Pro, Quatix 7 Pro, and Tactix 7 AMOLED.
The UK remains excluded due to regulatory differences, though activation is possible on those devices when visiting the EU or US. Garmin’s move follows user pushback, highlighting concerns over limiting features to newer devices.
